Understand the recommended crew roles and staffing needed to support UHPC mixing, transport, placement, and finishing operations.
Appropriate manpower should be planned for by the contractor. Technicians from SmartUp’s team will provide quality control and training services on placement day, while the contractor’s force will handle the following tasks:
One crane operator to lift materials to the top of the mixer.
One worker at the material staging site to attach premix supersacks to the crane hooks.
Three workers to load materials into the mixer, including cutting open premix supersacks, measuring admixtures, and adding bags of steel fibers.
One worker to discharge material from the mixer to the mobile concrete buggies.
One operator for each buggy, totaling three to four.
Several workers on the bridge site assisting with placement, moving funnels, scraping excess UHPC, installing top forms, and other tasks.
